Last weekend, I threw a party at Ten Ton Studio. Not a very big party, but a festive one, for sure! Joining myself, Todd Elkins and Svetlana Lazareva were Mimi Young on styles, Brett Jackson on the hair/mu, Melissa Chapman digital teching and Cole Slutzky laying down some mean light. As much fun as the shoot was the shopping. The Village Party Store in Manhattan has so much to choose from, I could spend hours and hours there just looking at all the fun things they have to shoot! Sadly, several balloons died on this photoshoot, and they did not go quietly!
On my recent shoot at the Rhinebeck Aerodrome, I mentioned to the model Todd Elkins that I was interested in shooting skaters. He said he would keep his eyes and ears open for me, and a few months later he gave me the info on an actor named Robin Monaco who was into street skating. I gave Robin a call and had him come to Ten Ton Studio. It was a beautiful day, so we split the day at Fort Greene Park and on the set of Ten Ton Studio. Thankfully, he had a lot of energy and we got quite a few cool action shots!
After the incredible success of the first book my team did for Perfectly Posh, they invited us back for a second round, this time in New York! We spent two days in the city, and then we drove up to Hudson, NY to shoot at my guest house, The Hudson Milliner. It was a lovely road trip with the crew, and the three days we spent together were not only very productive, but also a lot of fun!
I found a little slice of catalogue heaven when I started shooting at Photopia Miami recently. My creative director quite wisely had us shoot the book there, and it is like an oasis in an industrial section of Little Haiti. The staff are kind and courteous, and rain or shine, I get my shots done by sundown. Here are some fun out takes from the wonderful shoot!
It was a wonderful time shooting with the lovely staff of Dunn&Co in Clearwater, Florida recently. There was rain, there was sun, and we got the job done. Brilliantly, I might add. Rich Johnson of Spectacle Photo was there as the behind the scenes photographer to capture our crew in action.
